Prospects for the development of large-diameter (large-caliber) pressure pipes

Domestic and foreign applications of plastic pipe are from the smaller diameter of the start, and gradually to the development of larger diameters. (For the large diameter is not defined, the large diameter in this paper refers to the diameter of 800mm or more.) It is worth noting that in recent years the international development of large-diameter plastic pipe trend, to promote the development of the root cause of environmental protection. As we all know, the world is currently facing a battle against climate change, countries have to bear the responsibility of reducing carbon emissions. There is no doubt that the pipeline industry is bound to require more attention to the environmental impact of the problem.

　　Previously, when choosing piping materials generally focus on functionality and economy, the reason for promoting plastic pipes is usually because they are hygienic, corrosion-resistant, leak-proof, and easy to manufacture and lay ....... In the small and medium diameter range of plastic pipe these advantages are more prominent, the economy is also better, so the application is increasingly widespread. However, in the large diameter range of plastic pipe is often hindered in the economy is difficult to compete with the traditional pipeline. In recent years, under the new concept of increasing concern for environmental benefits, the pipe in the manufacture, transportation, laying, and operation of energy consumption (corresponding to carbon emissions) and other impacts on the environment on the basis of an important choice. Research has proved that plastic pipes are 'environmentally friendly' green building materials, which can significantly reduce carbon emissions when compared with traditional pipes, or in accordance with the 'energy-saving and emission reduction' policy according to the domestic terminology.
